We are so glad to meet with you today. Please respond and tell us a way that you have used something from the grade level meetings in you classroom? We all would like to know! :~)

I have used a lot more conversation in my math class. I have the students use buddies in order to solve mathematical reasoning problems.
Hi there Tina,
Glad to hear the kids are super.
I enjoyed the manipulatives that we have been able to bring back to the classroom.
We do a problem of the day each day and we try to work it out different ways. I ask why a lot.
I have used the open-numberline but my class has renamed it the "ever ending numberline".They renamed it b/c we discussed how the number line does not have a starting point nor an ending point. Using this strategy along with 100's charts my students seem to understand adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers better. They are not worried about regrouping. Some already know how to regroup and I allow them to use that method but I make sure to introduce varying ways to solve problems.
This training has been great! It has given me a lot of great ideas about how to engage my students more in math.
We are studying force and motion in science.
I have loved having the colored number lines, it has helped so much with the estimation.
I used the interwrite for teaching money and the children loved the lessons.
Corrections "never ending number line"
I have started using more technology with math and other subjects. I use the interwrite when teaching math almost daily. I really like knowing that our county homepage already has interwrite lessons and turning point activities ready for us to use.
The Math training sessions have been GREAT!!!! It not only gives us some wonerful ideas to use with our students, but it gives us a chance to get to know each other and realize that some of the difficulties we are having in our classrooms are the same things others are experiencing... it helps to know your not alone...lol
The Math training is good. There has been great ideas for us to use with our students.
I have been trying to use more hands-on materials during math. The materials that we have received are wonderful! I am sure we all really appreciate Krista constructing them for us.
I have also learned that instruction should be more student centered. Students should be guiding the lesson.
Tina, could you make a place where we can access the websites that you attach to the tech newsletter? I always have to go back and filter through them. If they were all in one place, categorized, it would be much easier. Thanks!
I have used the links from the technology in my classroom in centers and whole groups. I love having the hands on materials that Krista has gave us and the technology knowledge I have gained.
LUNCH ROCKS!!
I think the Math programs and Tina's contribution has been great. I have used many activities with my children in our classroom. Great job.
Krista and Tina,
You guys always do a great job! Thanks for all your hard work!
I love all of the manipulatives that are available for us to take back to the classroom. Thanks!
I have used several of the strategies shared by the math interventionists at the past two meetings. I love using the place value arrow cards. My students love playing race to a dollar:-)
I think it is really nice to get out of the classroom and see what other teachers are doing!
I really enjoy when we get to "Make and Take" activities at the Math trainings. It is so difficult to have time to make these things once you are back at school.
Thank you for sharing ideas and websites for use in our classrooms. They have been helpful since there is such a limited amount of time regular classroom teachers have to search for appropriate sites for our students to incorporate differeniation of learning.
I have used the games "I have, Who has" for several math skills and concepts. It's a fun way to review and can be used quickly. The kids love it.
Tina,
I'm really glad we are able to use the commuters today. I learn by doing.I have also used several of the manipulatives with my class . The children have really enjoyed them. and are showing more understanding of math.
The training has been wonderful. I am using the activities in my classroom and the kids are having fun and learning alot.
I have used the abcd cards for the
students to find answers on the practice test questions for the Math Web site for our HM series.
This is a variation of the clicker
system on Turning Point. The students love to work the problem
and check with the cards.
Our 2nd grade team enjoy the math training and the new ideas we recieve when interacting with other teachers.
I am very thankful for the new ideas, as well as the materials to use being supplied for us. Thanks for the necklace tags!
I have enjoyed the hands on activities and the different ways of showing how to solve a problem. It has led to some great discussion. I have been using place value arrow cards, ten frames, and dot patterns on a regular basis. I can see where it has helped with their basic understanding. We have begun to use popiscle sticks has a manipulative for subtracting as well. One student said it made it as clear as spring water.
Krista and Tina,
The ideas and activities that you two share with us are great. I have learned more from you two than any other PD I have had over the course of my career. Keep up the great work.
This training has been excellent as a resource for Math activities and I plan on using them in my classroom.
Tina and Christa,
The Math PD is something I look forward to. I made and use the place value Arrow Cards. I also like the game Race to a dollar and the kids love it.
I agree with my colleagues: the math websites are great, but it would be so nice if they were in one place and organized. Tina, could you tell us how to do this or could you do it?
The training has been wonderful. I am using the activities in my classroom and the kids are having fun and learning a lot.
